Have you ever wanted to be in two places at once? This weekend would be a good time to be able to do it! This Saturday, April 11 will be the 5th Annual East Nashville Beer Festival and Highlands 21st birthday in Asheville, NC.
The East Nashville Beer fest is the best craft beer festival in Tennessee, and perhaps the entire Southeast. This 5th annual version will be better than ever! Gates at East Park on Woodland Ave open at Noon, but a line will be forming before 11am. There will be over 40 breweries pouring all their best, and most bring special one-off beers to East Nashville. There will be several of Nashville’s best food trucks on-site with a wide variety of food options. Tickets are sold out, but there always seems to be plenty available on Craigslist. If you have tickets to sell, be cool and sell them for what you paid… you don’t want bad beer karma, do you? Proceeds will be donated to Ride for Reading, a charity supporting literacy in low-income areas.
It’s also Highland’s 21st birthday. Yay, Scotty is old enough to drink! Highland is celebrating by throwing a big party at the brewery with music, food trucks, and plenty of delicious Highland beer. They’ll be featuring Scotty’s 21st Birthday Double IPA, a big, West-coast IPA. If you have a kilt, wear it! They’ll have a look-alike contest with a $200 prize. Festivities begin at 2pm, with a birthday cake cutting at 4pm and live music at 7pm.
